Alabama's and West Virginia's are the top two wide receivers in the 2015 , but the order in which they will be chosen remains a question. It appears the question isn't just a source of debate for those outside of NFL franchises. It's interesting to listen to coaches and scouts debate Amari Cooper vs. Kevin White. Scouts favor White; Coaches seem to like Cooper Bucky Brooks (@BuckyBrooks) The different views make sense because Scouts/GMs think long-term potential; coaches are more inclined to like guys who are ready from Day 1 Bucky Brooks (@BuckyBrooks) The , who hold the No. 4 overall pick, seem to have the most urgent need at wide receiver of teams drafting in the top 10. But there Peyton Bender Jersey are a handful of other teams that pick in the top 15 who wouldn't mind a wide receiver, which means Oakland's decision at No. 4 -- Cooper, White or a different player -- potentially could play a big role in how the first round unfolds. NFL Media analyst Daniel Jeremiah -- a former NFL scout -- likes White the best, to the point that he has White But he likes Cooper a lot, too, and has him at No. 3. Brooks also is a former NFL scout. He has Cooper as and says Cooper "is the most pro-ready receiver of the group." Still, Brooks has White as the first receiver taken in his perhaps an offshoot of his belief that general managers like guys with the most long-term potential. Jeremiah and fellow analysts Charles Davis and Brian Baldinger also have White as the first receiver taken, while Lance Zierlein has Cooper going first in his mock draft. Josh Butler has spent two seasons watching Dak Prescott up close, from film se sions to practice reps to the hardest moments a locker room has endured. Now the cornerback is done staying quiet about how his quarterback gets characterized from the outside. Butler joined the Cowboys in July 2023 after starring for the Michigan in the USFL that spring. He has been a Dallas native who grew up rooting for the Cowboys Alex Tchikou Jersey since his time at West Mesquite High School. Over the weekend, Butler recently after a debate about Prescott's standing among NFL signal-callers pushed him past his limit. "Somebody tried to argue with me and say Dak Prescott not top 5," Butler said in the clip. "You're not gonna argue with me because y'all don't see what I see." What Butler has seen goes far beyond the stat sheet, though Prescott's 2025-26 numbers make a compelling case on their own. The Cowboys quarterback completed 67.3 percent of his pa ses for 4,552 yards with 30 touchdowns and just 10 interceptions . He led the NFL in pa sing attempts, completions and pa sing yards while ranking third in pa sing yards, fourth in pa sing touchdowns and fifth in QBR. Despite Prescott's elite production, the Cowboys finished 7-9-1 and mi sed the playoffs for the second consecutive season. Dallas ranked seventh in the league at 27.7 points per game on offense, while their defense ranked 30th in yards allowed under coordinator Matt Eberflus. Cowboys legend Emmitt Smith also came to Dak Prescott's defense The criticism came anyway. Cowboys legend Emmitt Smith felt compelled to defend Prescott The Fan in early April, calling out those who blamed the quarterback for the team's failures. "Last year, the guy was a top-five quarterback," Smith said. "Nobody wants to talk about that. But everybody wants to talk about, 'Well, he's a top-five quarterback, but he hasn't made the playoffs.' All that isn't on him. When you have a sorry [expletive] defense that we had last year, let's be honest with each other." Bleacher Report's Brent Sobleski in his final report card and ranked him fifth overall at the position, writing that the Cowboys QB had played the best of any quarterback on a team with a losing record and that even a close second didn't exist. The will be one team that eagerly watches the first handful of picks in the NFL Draft, given they hold the No. 9 overall pick. Based on what transpires in front of the Chiefs, that could determine which way general manager Brett Veach and his team go with their selection. Given the number of needs the Chiefs have to fill on both sides of the ball, no one knows which way the Chiefs will lean with their first pick. And Veach knows that because of the team's needs, their first pick can go on any number of different players. "I think it does open up that No. 9 pick to go in any one direction," Veach said via . "Certainly, we'll see how the first five or six picks go. I think whether it's the defensive back field, the Jack Rathbone Jersey offensive line, edge rusher, receiver, again we need help in all of those areas. "I do think that we will be in a position there to get one of those players and then add throughout the course of the draft. I think where we're at with our roster you can't eliminate any one need because there are a lot of them." More: Who should Chiefs target? That is up for debate, and with mock drafts coming thick and fast, each one has the Chiefs taking someone different. With needs at receiver, offensive line, corner, and edge, Kansas City is open to anything and everything at No. 9. That makes it hard to really nail downwhat the franchise will do. Will they take a corner like Mansoor Delane? Or Miami edge Rueben Bain Jr.? Maybe receiver Jordyn Tyson? All are legitimate options for the Chiefs. And that is why you can't really narrow down on what the Chiefs are going to do, mainly because, as Veach stated, there are so many needs the franchise has to addre s. Jacksonville is bringing in Wisconsin's , one of the top two running backs in this draft, for a meeting. A Yahoo! Sports report will meet with Gordon, who definitely would fill a need on a team that currently has and as its top two running backs. But the pick third in the first round, and no way does Gordon fit at that spot. Jacksonville picks fourth in the second round (No. 36 overall), but would Gordon be available then? He is generally seen as a first-round selection. Obviously, this is Ray Emery Jersey a case of the doing their due diligence on a top prospect at a position of need. But it's difficult to imagine a scenario whereby Gordon ends up in Jacksonville -- difficult but not impo sible. The could draft Gordon third. (We'll take a minute to let the laughter die down.) Next. The could trade down out of the No. 3 spot to nab Gordon; that seems inconceivable, especially to get a running back. The need someone to provide a pa s rush, and they should have their pick of the top edge rushers available at No. 3. Heck, they need help at almost every position except quarterback, and should be able to get their guy at No. 3. The could pick a defensive player at No. 3, hope Gordon is available somewhere late in the first round, then trade back into the round. That also seems far-fetched; to move back into the first round would cost a lot, and, again, we're talking about a team that has numerous holes trading a lot to get a running back (a good running back, no doubt, but still). The are hoping Gordon lasts until the second day. That certainly is po sible, but seems extremely unlikely. At the least, the meeting gives officials a chance to get to know Gordon, who could end up on the team's free-agency radar a few seasons down the road. Jacksonville would seem to need to come away with a running back in this draft; the good news is that even if the don't get Gordon, there should be a number of backs available in the second and third rounds who could help the offense. The could be bracing to lose center Tyler Linderbaum in NFL free agency next week. reports that Linderbaum's team is seeking a deal worth $25 million annually, which is likely out of the Ravens' price range. The are going all-in for the 2026 NFL season. Matthew Stafford is back, and there might not be a playoff future once Stafford retires. But, for now, the Rams are still in it. And they're actually one of, if not the top, Super Bowl contenders in the entire league. They needed to add a few key players on defense, specifically, in the secondary. After they Joseph Cecconi Jersey made a few big moves, the Rams are in great shape. And as notes, Rams defensive coordinator Chris Shula is one of the biggest winners in the NFL after the first day of free agency. Rams' Chris Shula winner of free agency "The Rams were already the ninth-best defense by EPA per play last season, and now they've plugged the biggest hole on their team with two standouts," Barnwell writes. "Watch out." Barnwell called Shula a winner of free agency so far, thanks to the moves that general manager Les Snead has made this offseason. He brought back Kamren Curl to pair with Quentin Lake, which makes for a strong safety duo. But the big moves came in the form of two cornerbacks. First, Snead dealt pick No. 29, fifth and sixth round picks in the 2026 NFL Draft, and a 2027 third-rounder to the Chiefs for All-Pro cornerback Trent McDuffie. They then extended him on a four-year, $124 million contract. More : Getting McDuffie on the roster and around for the next four years is a huge boon for Shula and the Rams' defense. But Snead didn't stop there. Jaylen Watson, the Chiefs' top free agent cornerback, also joined the Rams, as he's in agreement on a big $51 million contract over the next three seasons. McDuffie and Watson are two ma sive additions for the Rams' secondary, which was the weakest link last season for the Rams. With a strong defensive front, a locked-in safety duo, and now the big additions of two top-tier cornerbacks, the Rams, and especially Shula, are easily one of the biggest winners so far this offseason. The have what they feel is one of the best rosters in the NFL heading into the 2026 season. The team made few changes to its core this offseason, a key indicator that head coach Sean Payton and the front office believe the team is close and has what it takes to win it all. This is likely based on the same belief held by the fanbase that if Bo Nix doesn't break his ankle in the divisional round last year, the Broncos go to the Super Bowl and have a chance to win it. This offseason, the goal has been to keep the glue of the team intact, re-signing just about every player who had an expiring contract before using the draft to plug any potential holes. Kay Adams believes the Broncos are the team to beat in 2026 Former NFL Network host Kay Adams, who now hosts her own show "Up and Adams" Kelvin Beachum Jersey for the Fanduel TV Network, had major praise for the Broncos earlier this week. While discu sing the 9.5 wins that Fanduel Sportsbook has put on the Broncos this season, Adams had this to say: Another year, another underrated Broncos squad... A 9.5 win total is TOO LOW | | Up & Adams (@UpAndAdamsShow) "They're returning all their starters, all of them. Jaylen Waddle, huge add, in the mix. I don't think we've seen what he can do. I don't think we've quite seen him cook the way that he can. And now that he's got Sean Payton dialing stuff up. He's not calling plays, at least to start the year, but he's definitely in the lab, figuring out how to use him, and so on. They have 10 of 11 starters back on defense and all they've done is just get deeper and deeper acro s the board and I've said it before, this is the most complete roster, top to bottom, in the NFL. Give me the reason why this team isn't winning 10 games" That is a bold statement from Adams and one that is quick to find its way to detractors. Critics will point to the Broncos having to play a first-place schedule in 2026, along with all of the one-score games the team won last season, as reasons not to believe in this year's Broncos. HOT READ: However, in a league where major roster turnover is the norm, the approach of this year's Broncos team is easy to get behind. More Broncos Content Roy Lopez Jersey

The 40-yard dash gets all the attention, but as the NFL Scouting Combine comes to a close, there's plenty of value from the rest of the proce s. In fact, running the 40 isn't the predictive exercise many want it to be. How many of the fastest wide receivers turn out to be stars? The trend (or lack thereof) is pretty stable acro s the field. However, other drills -- often not televised -- offer more to Marcus Mariota Jersey evaluators. No drill has proven to predict NFL succe s more than the 20-yard shuttle for offensive linemen. Exploring the 20-yard shuttle It isn't all that surprising that the 20-yard shuttle is more useful than the 40-yard dash, especially for linemen. Their short-area quickne s and change of direction skills matter much more, given the phone booths they are asked to win in. Football is a game of geometry and angles. How linemen can recover, find leverage, and dictate the terms of engagement matters far more than long speed. For the same reason, 10-yard splits during the 40-yard dash are far more important than the time itself. Underdog's Josh Norris was among the first to highlight the value in this drill, and showcased the number fans need to focus on: 4.47 seconds. It's NFL Combine week! and in 2026, athletic testing can still be a player evaluation cheat code for NFL Teams when applied correctly -- like OL posting a short shuttle time of 4.47 seconds or better Josh Norris (@JoshNorris) Linemen posting times shorter than 4.47 seconds have proven to play earlier and more often than their slow-footed counterparts. Likewise, strong times have helped prospects exceed expectations from their draft capital. Day 3 picks who hit this threshold still tend to see real playing time. At a position that is more "get what you pay for" than other non-quarterback spots, that value is imperative. MORE: There are several reasons for linemen to fall. Concerns over level of competition and arm length can dampen draft stocks. Many come with technical flaws and versatility questions, production lapses and raw intangibles. If their shuttle is fast enough, it might not matter. On the final day of on-field Combine drills, offensive linemen will be put through the wringer of athletic testing. For many, the numbers aren't flattering. But for the prospects who have flown under the radar throughout the proce s, a sub-4.47 time in the shuttle could fuel a thrust up boards, putting players on the map and into new conversations. As Kadyn Proctor, Spencer Fano, Monroe Freeling, and others vie for draft capital, keep an eye on those who complete the shuttle. There's no drill more deserving of your attention. The already made Baylor Cupp Jersey a big wide receiver move this offseason when they traded with the to acquire Michael Pittman Jr. They may not be done bolstering the WR depth chart behind Pittman and DK Metcalf, though. It's not yet clear whether it'll be Aaron Rodgers or someone else throwing them the ball, but the Steelers aren't resting on their laurels. Their latest step toward adding to the receiver ranks is hosting a pair of wideouts on "30 visits" on Monday, according to : Jeff Caldwell, Cincinnati Kendrick Law, Kentucky MORE: Caldwell is a 6-foot-4 wide receiver, a great target for his quarterbacks. He played the 2025 season for the Bearcats in a medium role with solid succe s. Caldwell finished with 32 grabs for 478 yards and six touchdowns. Caldwell's only offer out of high school was from FCS Lindenwood, where he played for three seasons and was an All-American before going to Cincinnati. Law began his college career at Alabama before heading to Kentucky. In three seasons combined with the Crimson Tide, Law had 33 catches for 343 yards and a single TD. In his lone season with the Wildcats, he had 53 grabs for 540 yards and three scores. Kentucky also gave him eight rushes, which he took for 53 yards. general manager Jerry Reese took a ton of heat following the 2014 for not selecting a tight end. He ended up betting on converted college quarterback and was rewarded with 63 catches for 623 yards and six touchdowns. He knew what he had. But as he approaches this year's draft, the focus has shifted to safety. His current roster is threadbare at the position. He's talked about converting a few cornerbacks -- and -- but stayed put during free agency. The team also lost out on the Tommy Tremble Jersey bidding war for . So will he hope for a Donnell-type diamond in the rough? "It happens all the time," Reese said when asked if he'd be comfortable with a DB conversion. "One of the best players we tried to get in free agency was the corner from New England. He was a corner and played safety. You see those conversions. That is not new to see something like that happen. That is a po sibility as well." He didn't expand much on the ' plan if they lost out on McCourty. "We thought he was the best player in free agency (at his position) and after that we thought there was a drop off and that is what happened." Reese is an interesting general manager in that he clearly values certain positions over others. During each of his two campaigns he did not have stellar play at the safety position. LINCOLN, Neb. -- It looks increasingly likely that the long national nightmare of running backs not getting selected in the first round is about to go bust with the 2015 . While most scouts and analysts agree that Georgia's and Wisconsin's are the top two players at the position, a third player is angling to be in the discu sion, and some believe he's right there at the top. On Thursday at Nebraska's pro day, former Cornhuskers star decided to throw the rankings out the door, proclaiming he should be the first running back taken in the draft. "I think I'm the best Erick All Jr. Jersey back in this cla s. I'm not really worried about anybody else," said Abdullah. "Whoever goes first, goes first. After that, once you hear your name called, it's time to get to work no matter where you get drafted. I'm the best back in the draft, so I'm not too worried about it." At his pro day, Abdullah appeared to run a faster time in the 40-yard dash than he did at the NFL , where he was clocked at 4.60. He relayed to reporters that his pro day times were in the 4.4 to 4.5 range at Nebraska's indoor facility in front of scouts from roughly 27 teams. NFL Media analyst Mike Mayock ranks Abdullah as the , so he's not too far down the list of available runners for teams. He also has the advantage over Gurley and Gordon by being a quality pa s-catcher out of the backfield. It still seems like Abdullah's height, 5-foot-9, might hold him back a little in his quest to become the first running back taken in the 2015 draft, but his solid pro day might start changing some teams' minds about him. While reports have suggested that the will eventually move on from veteran wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk, the timing of any decision doesn't seem to be now. FALL RIVER, Ma s. -- The judge overseeing the murder trial of former player Aaron Hernandez removed a juror Tuesday, saying there was evidence she had spoken about the case in previous years and had an early interest in being seated on the panel.
