A potential return to Los Angeles dominated the headlines leading into the NFL Annual Meeting earlier this week. Inside the room, owners were apprised that the league is being just as aggre sive beyond the borders of its home country. The NFL's efforts in London are still at the forefront, to be sure, but are only part of the equation now as the league is moving to broaden its efforts internationally. As the league sees it, the next group of countries to zero in on are Mexico, Canada and China, and it won't stop there. "The work we're doing now is to ask, 'How do we accelerate the agenda in Mexico, Canada and China?'" said Mark Waller, NFL EVP, International. "Those would be our next stage, and we have offices in those three countries. And then, after those, where should be our focus? I think we've concluded that Brazil and Germany are the next two frontier markets, which is where the idea comes from." The league has, indeed, considered moving the February 2017 to Brazil, in an effort to introduce the game and its stars to the world's fifth-largest populace. Germany, on the other hand, is developed as a football-watching public well beyond needing that, and will soon be in consideration for a regular-season game. With that in mind, here's a look at where things stand following the owner' meetings ... Asked if the NFL remains on track to reach its goal of having a team full-time in London by 2022, Waller responded, "Absolutely." Had it not been for the Rugby World Cup, the league would've gone to four games in London this year, so it's a good bet that happens in 2016. Also, the NFL has a base of 40,000 fans who bought tickets for all three games for this year. The vast majority of those 40,000 are local to London, and bought tickets for all three games last year, which, in the league' Francisco Perez Jersey s eyes, represents the formation of a potential season-ticket base. The NFL sent a team to Mexico City two weeks ago to visit stadiums in the area, and left knowing that work still needed to be done. But the league is now starting to look at expanding the to include regular-season games outside the U.K., with 2017 being a target, and Mexico and Germany are the focus of those efforts. In Germany, Frankfurt and Du seldorf are the likeliest sites, with Berlin and Munich also under consideration. Additionally, the league is starting to look at options to bring some form of preseason football to Mexico in the short term -- it could be a team having a part of training camp there, it could be a set of scrimmages. The overriding i sue in Germany (which had five of six NFL Europe teams, and has produced NFL players) remains television distribution. The league has been able to get its playoff games and the on the air, but has struggled to find a carrier for the regular season. Development in Canada remains steady. Meanwhile, the focus in China is on media rights, particularly digitally, with the league looking to distribute its product online. The easiest way to look at this -- the NFL is comfortable enough with its growth in the U.K. to start similar projects elsewhere. All three games in London have sold out, and part of the logistical problem there has been mitigated too with two resolutions pa sed in October that will help facilitate the growth to more than three games over the next few years. The first one stipulates that if teams are relocating -- and one or two very well may be in 2016 -- they have to give up a home game in each of their transitional years, the seasons between the move being announced and a new stadium opening. The second says that teams that win a bid have to give up a home game within a five-year period. Both should help keep the well of teams going to London (or elsewhere) from running dry, and allow continued growth as the league works toward a permanent franchise in the U.K. And of course, the has moved to a phase that will test how a full-time franchise there would work, with the introduction of back-to-back games and a division game this year, and the po sible addition of a December game and removal of the automatic byes afforded to traveling teams soon. "We're testing it from a fan standpoint, from a stadium standpoint," said Waller. "Will the field stand up? We've had i sues there, so this year will be big playing the games back-to-back. The rest of the work is internal, on what to do next. We're thinking through the next steps." And clearly, all of those steps are being taken forward. Follow Albert Breer on Twitter . It might not be long before we find out where wide receiver Stefon Diggs lands. Diggs was recently against him, which removes the cloud of uncertainty that was hanging over his head. When asked for his two cents on where Diggs might land, named the , , and as potential landing spots. "The Chiefs could make sense. The Commanders might, too, since Diggs is from Mckinley Moore Jersey D.C. The Falcons and Rams would also be interesting landing spots," Breer said. Diggs is up there in age as he prepares to turn 33 in November, but he showed he can still make a big impact after another 1,000-yard season in 2025. The Rams are the least in need of a wide receiver out of those teams considering they have Puka Nacua and Davante Adams, but never rule the Rams out of anything because of Les Snead's knack for pulling off big moves. The Falcons do need an adequate No. 2 target acro s from Drake London. As of right now, Zachariah Branch, Jahan Dotson and Olamide Zaccheaus are the top options for that job, but Branch is unproven and the two veterans are No. 3 receivers, at best. In Washington, the Commanders are also looking for a better No. 2 option to play opposite Terry McLaurin. Even if Washington eventually lands Brandon Aiyuk like everyone expects them to once he is cut by the , that won't be sufficient, as Aiyuk didn't play a single snap in 2025 and remains a total wild card. The Chiefs also have a dire need at wide receiver. Kansas City's wide receivers room is led by Rashee Rice and Xavier Worthy, but Worthy was very disappointing last season. Kansas City also lost Hollywood Brown in free agency, so the depth is lacking in that position group, too. If Diggs wants to win a Super Bowl, going to Los Angeles is his best bet. But if he wants a more significant role, the Falcons, Commanders and Chiefs all offer a better opportunity than Los Angeles does. More NFL News Tim Hill Jersey

One Dylan Covey Jersey of 's nicknames might soon have some official paperwork to go with it. Winston recently filed to trademark the phrase "Famous Jameis," "We have begun taking steps to protect our client and his intellectual property rights," Ru s Spielman, a partner for the agency that represents Winston, told the site. "Right now his sole focus is on football. We hope to utilize this way down the line." Winston was often called "Famous Jameis" during a college career in which he won a Heisman Trophy and national title during the 2013 season. Despite several off-the-field concerns, most NFL analysts believe will lead to him being taken No. 1 overall by the in the 2015 . If that does indeed happen, he'll certainly take the "Famous Jameis" moniker to a new level. This isn't the first time a top NFL prospect has applied for a trademark on a nickname he earned in college. defensive end Maxx Crosby did not wait long. Minutes after the franchise selected Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza with the first overall pick of the 2026 NFL Draft on Thursday, Crosby Alex Kirilloff Jersey went straight to X with a me sage directly to his new teammate. "LFG!!!! Welcome To The Darkside Brother," Crosby wrote, tagging Mendoza's account and adding three pirate flag emojis. Mendoza arrived as the Heisman Trophy winner, the national champion and the most decorated college quarterback prospect since Joe Burrow. 2026 NFL DRAFT HQ: | | Crosby has carried this Raiders defense through the years; maybe Mendoza's arrival will change the picture The went 3-14 last season. They cycled through seven different starting quarterbacks over the past three years, compiling a 15-36 record in that span. Crosby was there for all of it, playing at an elite level while the franchise struggled to find direction. Watching a quarterback of Mendoza's caliber come through the door is a different experience from anything Crosby has had in Las Vegas. LFG!!!! Welcome To The Darkside Brother Maxx Crosby (@CrosbyMaxx) Mendoza completed 72% of his pa ses for 3,535 yards, threw 41 touchdowns against just six interceptions and went 16-0 while leading the Hoosiers to their first national championship in program history. The Raiders signed quarterback Kirk Cousins this offseason to give Mendoza a veteran to learn from. Head coach Klint Kubiak has said the team's ideal scenario would ease the rookie into the starting role. The have signed Maximus Pulley. Yes, that's a real name, and he's an with Philly after the conclusion of the 2026 NFL Draft. Pulley's next step will be to work his game up to match his name. He had a lengthy college career split between two small schools. Pulley first went to Western Kentucky, but he didn't make much of an impact in two years there. MORE: After that, Pulley transferred to Wofford, where he developed into a star. In 2025, Pulley played 11 games and made 85 tackles while snatching five interceptions. Even more notably, Pulley returned two of his INTs for Bj Surhoff Jersey touchdowns. He was first-team FCS All-America. Pulley may not have worked out at WKU, but he started every one of the Terriers' games acro s three seasons. At 5-foot-11 and 200 pounds, the native of Fort Worth, Texas has a chance to stick around the NFL if he can have a strong offseason with Philly. The goal for a player like Pulley is to impre s enough to get to the preseason, because every team can keep an eye on Pulley if he's playing in those games. For now, it's just good news for Pulley that he's been given a chance to prove that he's much more than a name. More NFL Draft news: Jackson Chourio Jersey

The have started shedding veteran players on Monday. According to multiple reports, edge rusher Bradley Chubb, wide receivers Tyreek Hill and Nick Westbrook-Ikhine and guard James Daniels. None of those moves are surprising, as the expectation was the rebuilding Dolphins would part ways with the veterans as the franchise turns the page to a new Ali Sanchez Jersey chapter and a rebuild. But there is still one more domino to fall: quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. What it means for Tua Tagovailoa The common thread with all four of those cuts is the Dolphins are taking on dead money. And, in the case of Hill and Chubb, the totals are significant. Cutting Hill leads to the in dead money, while cutting Chubb gives Miami $23 million in dead funds. If the Dolphins were to cut Tua, which seems like the most likely scenario given the fact that his monster contract will be very difficult to trade, they would incur a ma sive dead-cap hit. A pre-June 1 release would mean a . A post-June 1 designation leads to $67.4 million in dead money. But these cuts clearly show that the Dolphins are not afraid to take these financial blows in 2026 in order to set themselves up for a better financial situation sooner rather than later in the years to come. NFL insider Jordan Schultz notes that the Dolphins are going to , but if they can't find a partner, cutting him is very much on the table. "The Dolphinspreference has been to find a trade partner for Tua Tagovailoa. A cut is po sible in the end. But that has been their preference. My understanding is new regime doesnt want it to drag too long," Schultz reported. Based on what we're seeing on Monday, it would not shock us one bit if Miami just bites the bullet and cuts ties with Tua. More NFL News Jesus Luzardo Jersey

The and find themselves in one of the le s common aspects of free agency at the moment. It involves Ryan Van Demark, restricted free agency and an offer sheet. Van Demark, the big offensive lineman, entered this offseason as a restricted free agent. That gave the Bills the opportunity to give him a qualifying tender, which they did it's for one year and $3.5 million. As an RFA, though, Van Demark can still negotiate with other teams, and evidently did so. The Vikings Dusty Baker Jersey made him an offer of one-year, $4.2 million, . The key to restricted free agency is now this the Bills have five days to match the Vikings' offer. MORE: With unrestricted free agents, they're totally gone. But with restricted free agents, the original team, if they extend that initial qualifying offer, can then match an offer sheet from another team. If the Bills decide to match the offer sheet, they keep Van Demark, and the Vikings are out of luck. The 6-foot-6, 307-pound Van Demark played in all 17 games for the Bills in 2025, starting four. He had played 26 games over the previous two seasons, including two starts. He's an ideal depth lineman, capable of playing different spots, but isn't nece sarily someone you want as a full-time starter. The Bills aren't in a great situation with the salary cap, but you'd think they could match the offer that raises Van Demark's salary by just $700,000. Their decision will certainly show us what they think of Van Demark and how tight they really think their salary cap situation is. More NFL news: Eddie Murray Jersey

The are picking 13th overall in the 2026 NFL draft thanks to their trade-down with the last year during the draft. With such a high pick and in win-now mode, along with few needs, the Rams have their choice of many different routes with this pick. made a bold prediction on 9.5 sack edge rusher, Ruben Bain Jr. He predicts Bain could fall outside of the top 12, which would give the Rams the chance to take one of the best defensive players without moving up at all. Rams could have interesting draft decision if Ruben Bain Jr.'s prediction comes true "Miami edge rusher Roben Bain Jr. will go outside the top 12 picks," Yates predicts. "The teams that could take a chance are the , , and (Nos. 8-10, respectively), but there's a chance he's still there in the teens." Bain is one of the top edge rushers in this year's draft cla s. David Bailey Magneuris Sierra Jersey and Arvell Reese are two other top edge rushers, with both likely to go inside the top 10. However, there has been some buzz about Bain sliding down boards. And this prediction from Yates would give the Rams the chance to take Bain with the 13th pick. Bain is a 6-foot-3, 275-pound edge rusher out of Miami who had 9.5 sacks this past season and led the Hurricanes' defense to the National Championship. He's one of the best defensive players in this cla s, which makes this prediction so bold. More : While the Rams haven't been linked to Bain much this offseason, it's not been about whether he'd be a worthwhile addition, but rather that most mock drafts don't have him making it to the Rams' pick. If this prediction from Yates were to come true, and Bain were on the board with the Rams on the clock, it could be an interesting situation. Jared Verse and Bryon Young are great edge rushers, and the Rams don't nece sarily need another one. But, with both needing new deals soon, the Rams could get out in front of those free agencies by taking Bain and landing one of the best edge rushers in the draft. Yates' prediction with Bain making it to the teens would give the Rams a very interesting decision in the first round. While wide receiver has been a common selection, if Bain is there, Les Snead might have a tough time pa sing on the chance to take him after a slide. More Rams news: Tyler Skaggs Jersey

The Aaron Rodgers experiment with the wasn't the best, and it wasn't the worst in 2025. The Steelers' offense wasn't great, but with a top defense for most of the season, that was enough for Pittsburgh to make the playoffs before being one-and-done. Now that Mike McCarthy is the head coach, replacing Mike Tomlin, many have thought that Rodgers could go around one more year with his former coach. On face value, there is no reason to go forward with Rodgers. It likely wouldn't end in a Steelers Super Bowl, and at best, you can argue a season similar to 2025 could happen. But for CBS Sports' Garrett Podell, Rodgers returning in 2026 is an interesting thought. "Now that the Steelers have hired Mike McCarthy to succeed Mike Tomlin as their new coach, why not bring back Aaron Rodgers for one more year? Rodgers helped Pittsburgh win the AFC North Tyler Holton Jersey . Why not run it back one more year?" . "If things go south in Rodgers' age-43 season, then perhaps the Steelers could bottom their way out into drafting their next long-term starting quarterback in 2027." More: Is Rodgers return a win-win? That is largely subjective, but there is a path to follow here. Rodgers returning in 2026 gives the Steelers a decent enough floor with McCarthy. Say something like the 2025 season. Would Steelers fans be happy with that? Conversely, as Podell points out, if it flames out, the Steelers could enter the 2027 draft with a top pick and select the QB they want. Running it back with Rodgers doesn't make the most sense, because if it does work, are Pittsburgh Super Bowl contenders? Not likely. So why not let McCarthy get a full season to see Will Howard as the starter and go from there if the 2026 season is about evaluating? Rodgers ' return is an interesting thought, but for most, it should stay as just that...a thought. More NFL news: Ricky Vanasco Jersey

The ' offseason has seen some significant changes for JimHarbaugh. Perhaps the biggest (and you could make the case Cal Quantrill Jersey the best) is getting in an offensive coordinator, Mike McDaniel, to come and be the leading voice in Justin Herbert's era. And the prospect of what McDaniel could do for Herbert is a tantalizing prospect in 2026, given his early work with the and Tua Tagovailoa. It appears that others think the hire is a home run as well. NFL.com's Eric Edholm, who ranks the Chargers 10th in his power rankings, also thinks the McDaniel hire is one of the best made this offseason. "If losing defensive coordinator Je se Minter is seen as a blow, the addition of Mike McDaniel as offensive coordinator might be one the best upgrades of the offseason so far," . MORE: Can McDaniel unlock Herbert? That's the goal, and in truth, Herbert needs a breakout season in the worst way. Upgrading his offensive line is a must, and we know how well McDaniel can scheme up the run and pa s game, so it should be interesting to watch how the duo develops in 2026. With the defense likely to again be around the mark, it will be up to McDaniel and the offense to start pulling their weight, and this feels like a shot in the arm for the Chargers, with McDaniel as the offensive play-caller. A quarterback in Herbert, who has all the talent in the world but has yet to do anything of substance in his NFL career to date, might be about to set the league on fire with McDaniel in his ear. It was a mostly quiet draft at the top for the after their big leap in 2025, as they were the last team to make their first selection and had only one pick between the first two days of the draft. can't Pedro Martinez Jersey bring himself to trash the . Though he begged owner Jim Irsay for one more shot, a chance to play his 15th, and probably last season as a Colt, he was denied. Still, he has no regrets. "I have nothing bad to say about the ," Wayne recently told RTV6.com, . "I have zero bad to say. They took me from the street and turned a frown upside down. Zero bad to say." While it's nice to hear, it must be difficult for Wayne to see his replacement come in the form of a 33-year-old veteran in . It's also hard to believe that, with nearly $11 million in cap space, they couldn't work something out to bring the veteran back on the cheap. Like Johnson, Wayne's value extends far beyond the field. When selecting receivers to play around a developing star quarterback, the proce s is just as much about the person as it is the talent on the field. Luck couldn't have asked for a better total package than Wayne, who could have easily taken a shot at his team on the way out. The latest Podcast and discu ses Jameis Winston's pro day. If the want to add to their cornerbacks room, they might not have to look far for help. One of the better pending free agents at cornerback this offseason is veteran Riq Woolen, who is expected to be playing elsewhere in 2026. According to , executives and coaches around the league believe Heston Kjerstad Jersey that if he doesn't return to Seattle, the 49ers could make a play for him in free agency. Tafur notes that The Athletic projects a four-year, $76 million deal for Woolen. If Riq Woolen doesnt re-sign with the Seahawks, several NFL executives and coaches think the 49ers will have interest in the 6-foot-4 cornerback. Woolen had some ups and downs winning a ring in Seattle but was pretty consistent locking down receivers, has speed and is only 27. He wouldnt be cheap The Athletic had him No. 26 inour free-agent rankingswith a price tag of four years and $76 million but would be an improvement over Renardo Green. Tafur goes on to say that Woolen would be an improvement over Green, who we last saw getting chewed out by head coach Kyle Shanahan during the playoffs. But we're not so sure the Niners are ready to give up on him yet. After all, Green is still just 25 years old and has two more years left on his rookie deal. He also posted strong coverage numbers, giving up a completion rate of 55.1% and a pa ser rating of 80.0. As for Woolen, he would be a solid addition for the Niners on paper. Woolen would add more speed and experience to the Niners' unit, and his coverage numbers were even better than Green's in 2025, with Woolen giving up completions on 54.2% of the pa ses thrown his way while surrendering a pa ser rating of 75.5. One i sue is Woolen is better in man coverage than zone, and the Niners only last season. If new defensive coordinator Raheem Morris keeps things the same, that could deter San Francisco from signing Woolen. More NFL News Matt Harvey Jersey
