Hi everyone I am planning a trip soon and have been looking into
Turkish Airlines Baggage Fees because I would like to avoid any surprises at the airport.
I have noticed that baggage requirements can depend on things such as the route, fare, cabin class and whether the luggage is checked or carried into the cabin. Because of that I think it is better to check baggage information for the reservation rather than rely on what applied to a previous trip.
Before packing I plan to check:
Checked baggage allowance
Cabin baggage size and weight
Suitcase dimensions
Excess or additional baggage conditions
Rules for special items
Any requirements that may apply to connecting flights
One thing I sometimes forget is the return journey. If I am likely to buy souvenirs or other items during the trip leaving an extra space in the suitcase seems like a good idea. I also prefer weighing my luggage at home so I have time to repack if necessary.
For a trip I would keep my passport, important documents, medication, valuables and other essentials somewhere easily accessible rather, than putting everything in checked luggage.
How do people usually prepare luggage for a flight? Do they check baggage allowance before packing or do they normally pack first and check limits afterward?
I would be interested to hear what packing habits have worked best for travelers.
