The have been one of the teams most connected to center and pending free agent, Tyler Linderbaum. And that's for good reason. Not only could the Giants use an upgrade at center, but Linderbaum has a George Springer Jersey connection with new Giants head coach John Harbaugh, who he played for while the two were together in Baltimore. However, that Linderbaum is expected to garner at least $20 million annually in a new deal and that will be too expensive for the Giants to pay. "Tyler Linderbaum is the best center on the [free agent] market and will likely be getting at least $20 million per year," Myers said. "He played for John Harbaugh in Baltimore and would be a nice upgrade for Big Blue, but he's going to be much too expensive." Myers goes on to provide some good news for the Ravens, though. He says that with the and both out of the market for a center, and with the Ravens having already offered Linderbaum a deal, the center could be staying put barring a "surprise bidder." "And with Chargers and Bears just filling their center needs caused by recent retirements, and the Ravens saying they already made market-setting offer, Linderbaum could be staying put unle s there is a surprise bidder," he said. There hasn't been much good news when it comes to the Ravens po sibly keeping Linderbaum, so this nugget from Myers is a breath of fresh air for Baltimore. It makes sense that Linderbaum will be too expensive for the Giants, as Big Blue only has $14.2 million to work with currently, per . And we think that $20 million figure is on the low end of what Linderbaum could command once several teams get involved, which is expected. The good news for the Giants is they still have John Michael Schmitz under contract for one more year, so they have time to find a long-term solution if the team doesn't feel he's it. The Giants only have seven picks in this year's draft, but we would expect them to spend at least one of them on the offensive line, and quite po sibly at center if New York doesn't land a veteran in free agency.
