Hi everyone,
I’m looking to get my 1900 sq ft house painted inside and possibly outside as well. I’m trying to budget and would love some guidance on typical costs. How much do painters usually charge per square foot or per room?
Are there big differences between labor and material costs I should be aware of? Also, does the type of paint (standard vs. premium) make a big impact on the overall price?
Any tips on saving money without compromising quality would be really helpful. I really appreciate any help you can provide.

For a 1900 sq ft house, interior painting usually costs around $1.50 to $3 per sq ft, while exterior painting can run $2 to $4 per sq ft. Labor often accounts for 60 to 70 percent of the total cost, with materials making up the rest. The
cost to paint 1900 sq ft house can vary depending on paint quality. Premium paints can raise costs by 20 to 50 percent, while mid-tier options often offer good durability at a lower price. To save money without sacrificing quality, stick to one color per area, prep small tasks yourself, and get 2 to 3 quotes from painters. For your house, expect roughly $3,000 to $5,500 for the interior, and $5,500 to $9,000 including the exterior.
