Has anyone noticed a significant difference in battery life between Life360 and Google Maps location sharing? My phone gets hot with Life360, but Google Maps seems to update less frequently. Is there a way to optimize Life360 or is Maps just more efficient?

Life360 tends to drain battery faster than Google Maps because it maintains a persistent connection to provide real-time "drive detection" and frequent refresh rates. This often causes devices to run warm. Google Maps is more efficient as it uses passive polling, but this results in less frequent updates. To optimize Life360, try disabling "Drive Detection" if you only need basic location pings. For a detailed comparison of their power consumption, visit this website. Adjusting these settings helps balance performance and battery life.
